Calculation of New Ratio:
1. Initial profit sharing ratio: X : Y = 3 : 2
2. Let X's share be 3x and Y's share be 2x.
- X's share = 3x
- Y's share = 2x
3. Z was admitted with 1/4 share, acquiring equally from X and Y:
- Z's share = 1/4 of total profit
- Z's share = (1/4)(3x + 2x) = 5x/4
4. After Z's admission:
- X's new share = 3x - 5x/4 = 7x/4
- Y's new share = 2x - 5x/4 = 3x/4
- Z's share = 5x/4
5. The new profit sharing ratio:
- X : Y : Z = 7x/4 : 3x/4 : 5x/4
- Simplifying, we get 7 : 3 : 5
Therefore, the new ratio after Z's admission will be 7 : 3 : 5.
Option b) 19 : 11 : 10 is incorrect.
