Which of the following is the correct sequence of events of sexual rep...
Sequence of events of sexual reproduction in a flower:

Pollination:
- Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther of the stamen to the stigma of the pistil in a flower.
- It can occur either through self-pollination (transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of the same flower) or cross-pollination (transfer of pollen from the anther of one flower to the stigma of another flower of the same species).

Fertilisation:
- After pollination, the pollen grains germinate on the stigma and produce pollen tubes.
- The pollen tubes grow through the style and reach the ovary where the ovules are present.
- The pollen tubes release male gametes (sperm cells) that fertilize the female gametes (egg cells) present in the ovules.
- This fusion of male and female gametes is called fertilisation.

Embryo development:
- After fertilisation, the fertilized egg cell develops into an embryo inside the ovule.
- The ovule develops into a seed, which contains the embryo along with a protective seed coat.
- The embryo is the young plant that will develop into a new individual.

Seedling formation:
- The seed undergoes dormancy, a period of rest, until favorable conditions for germination are present.
- When the conditions are suitable, the seed germinates, and the embryo resumes its growth.
- The radicle (embryonic root) emerges first, followed by the plumule (embryonic shoot).
- The radicle grows into the primary root, and the plumule grows into the shoot, giving rise to a seedling.

Correct sequence of events:
The correct sequence of events of sexual reproduction in a flower is:
1. Pollination
2. Fertilisation
3. Embryo development
4. Seedling formation

This sequence ensures that the pollen grains reach the stigma, fertilization occurs, the embryo develops inside the ovule, and eventually, a seedling emerges from the seed.
