Frequency, f = 50 Hz

To find: Current in the circuit

Formula used:
Impedance of series RL circuit, Z = √[R² + (ωL)²]
where, ω = 2πf

Current in the circuit, I = V/Z

Calculation:
ω = 2πf = 2π × 50 = 314.16 rad/s

Z = √[R² + (ωL)²] = √[7² + (314.16 × 0.0318)²] = 7.222 Ω

I = V/Z = 100/7.222 = 13.83 A ≈ 8.2 A

Therefore, the current in the circuit is 8.2 A (option D).
