Working of GIFT Technique:

3. Collection of Sperms:
The sperms are collected from the male partner or a donor through masturbation.

4. Mixing of Eggs and Sperms:
The eggs and sperms are mixed in a laboratory dish.

5. Transfer of Gametes:
The mixed eggs and sperms are transferred into the fallopian tube of the recipient female.

6. Fertilization:
The fertilization of eggs and sperms occurs inside the recipient female's body.

7. Implantation:
If the fertilization is successful, the embryo implants in the uterus and grows into a fetus.

Advantages of GIFT:

- GIFT is a simple and natural process that does not involve the use of drugs that stimulate ovulation.
- GIFT does not require the use of a laboratory for fertilization, as the fertilization takes place inside the body.
- GIFT has a high success rate for women with unexplained infertility.

Disadvantages of GIFT:

- GIFT requires the donor and recipient to be synchronized with their menstrual cycles, which can be difficult to achieve.
- GIFT has a lower success rate than other assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF-ET.
- GIFT has a higher risk of multiple pregnancies than other assisted reproductive technologies.
