Heart is a muscular pumping organ. It has four chambers, two upper chambers are called "Atrium" and lower two chambers are called "Ventricles" (pumping chambers).

Muscles of Ventricles are thicker and stronger than the muscles of the Atrium because they have to pump the blood with great pressure.

Right and Left part of the heart is separated by muscular membrane called "Septum".

Right Atrium and Right Ventricles are separated by tricuspid valve, Left Atrium and Left Ventricles are separated by "Bicuspid valve".

FUNCTION OF HEART:-

Oxygenated blood from Lungs enters into Left Auricle through pulmonary veins.

When Left Atrium contracts Left Ventricle dilates so blood enters from Left Auricle to Left Ventricle through Bicuspid valve. Left Ventricle pumps the blood to different part of the body through "Aorta".

Oxygen in the blood exchange with body cells so blood becomes deoxygenated. This deoxygenated blood enters to Right Atrium through "Vena Cava".

Right Atrium contracts so the blood enters into dilated , Right Ventricles through Tricuspid valve , Right Ventricle pumps the deoxygenated blood to Lungs through Pulmonary arteries where blood gets oxygenated.
