Let the charge density of each sheet be denoted by σ, where σ is a scalar quantity with units of charge per unit area.

Since the two sheets have equal and opposite charge densities, the total charge of each sheet is given by:

Q = σA

where A is the area of each sheet. The charge of one sheet is positive and the charge of the other sheet is negative.

The electric field due to one sheet can be found using the formula:

E = σ/2ε0

where ε0 is the permittivity of free space. The electric field points away from the positively charged sheet and towards the negatively charged sheet.

The electric field due to both sheets can be found using the principle of superposition. Since the two sheets are parallel, the electric fields due to each sheet add up vectorially. The magnitude of the electric field at a point between the sheets is given by:

E = σ/ε0

If the point is outside the sheets, the electric field is zero.

The potential difference between the two sheets can be found using the formula:

V = Ed

where d is the distance between the sheets. The potential difference is proportional to the charge density and the distance between the sheets.

In summary, two infinite plane parallel sheets with equal and opposite charge densities have electric fields that point towards each other between the sheets and are zero outside the sheets. The potential difference between the sheets is proportional to the charge density and the distance between the sheets.
