Inside diameter of hollow shaft (d) = 150 mm

Cross-sectional area of solid shaft = πD²/4
Cross-sectional area of hollow shaft = π/4(D² - d²)

As given, both cross-sectional areas are equal.
πD²/4 = π/4(D² - d²)

On simplifying the above equation, we get
4D² - 4d² = D²
3D² = 4d²
D/d = √(4/3)

The ratio of power transmitted is directly proportional to (D/d)^4.
