The main property shared by conductors is that the atoms that make up the material have some loose electrons on the outside (called conduction bands); where the electrons can move from one atom to the next. Electrical current is the movement of electrons in a conductor. If a material lacks these free electrons (also called conducting electrons)as rubber does it will not conduct electricity and is called an insulator.

COPPER and all the METALS contain. ' FREE ELECTRONS ' ,,,,,,,,,,.......,,,,,,,,BUT.........,,,,,,,,...... RUBBERS and NON METAL doesn't contain free electron ...,,,,,,,,...that's why copper conduct electricity and Rubber doesn't...............,,,
The atoms of copper contain electrons and the atoms of rubber also con...
Copper conduct electricity and rubber not because 1)copper is a metal wheres rubber is a nonmetal.....
2)copper have freee electrons whereas rubber didn't have freee electrons...
3) Copper have lossely bonded electrons whereas Rubber have tightly bonded electrons....
4) because of lossely bonded atoms in copper the electrons can move whereas in rubber the atoms are tighly bonded so the electrons can't move
These are the reason for this.....
