Hi, I some what didn't understand your question.But here's my answer for that
Very reactive Metals like Sodium, pottasium, calcium,magnesium, aluminum and zinc can are extracted by process of electrolysis. But they cannot be reduced.

Where's the less reactive metals like iron, lead, copper, mercurry and silver can be reduced, so the refore they follow the process of calcination and reduction.

And also metals like the Gold and Platinum have no reaction, least reactive metals, i.e. they are occurring in native state(free state). No need to be separated or extracted.
I think i am somewhat correct, but i may be wrong. Ask your dobuts to your classmates for more clarification.

Yes, reactive metals doesn't found free in natue, thus are only electrolyted. Less reactive metal are in native state, therefore extracted by reduction.
