- Observe the periodicity of properties like atomic radius, ionization energy, electronegativity, etc.
- Construct a periodic table by placing the elements in rows and columns based on their properties
- Analyze the arrangement of elements and identify the trends in properties across periods and groups

2. Comparison of the properties of metals and non-metals
- Collect a few samples of metals and non-metals
- Observe the physical properties of each element like colour, lustre, hardness, melting point, boiling point, etc.
- Conduct experiments to determine the chemical properties of each element like reactivity with acids, reactivity with oxygen, etc.
- Compare the properties of metals and non-metals and identify the differences between them
- Analyze the properties of metalloids and classify them as either metals or non-metals based on their properties.
