Subject : Balancing academics and co-curricular activities
Madam
I am a regular reader of your educational magazine and through the columns of your esteemed educational initiative would like to express my views on the rising load of balancing academics and hobbies together on school children.
Since , I was ten , I had started practicing Judo as a hobby martial art but with time I went on to become more and more interested in practicing Judo. I wanted to participate in every tournament of Judo and even brought laurels to school in several state and National level events . But due to the upcoming boards of class tenth , I had to leave Judo in class ninth and focus only on academics .
I wish to educate all the parents of today's generation to kindly not pressurise students about studies . Nowadays , a lot of other fields are evolving providing more and more opportunities. One must excel at time management to balance both academic passion and hobbies together. Parents should also provide a psychologically healthy environment at house in order to ensure a sound mental health of the child. Regular practice of all skills in respective time slots guarantees success in both fields, thus , making the child more efficient in multi-tasking and hence more future ready .I hope my views would be able to find some space in the next issue of the magazine . Looking forward to the response on the matter .
