Monthly income of P and Q are in the ratio 2 : 3 and their monthly exp...
Given:

Monthly income of P and Q are in the ratio 2 : 3

Monthly expenses of P and Q are in the ratio of 5 : 9

Each of them saves Rs 300 per month

To find:

Respective monthly income of P and Q

Solution:

Let the monthly income of P and Q be 2x and 3x respectively

Let the monthly expenses of P and Q be 5y and 9y respectively

Given, each of them saves Rs 300 per month

So,

(2x - 5y) = 300

(3x - 9y) = 300

Solving these equations, we get

x = 450

y = 300

Therefore,

Monthly income of P = 2x = Rs 900

Monthly income of Q = 3x = Rs 1350

Hence, the respective monthly income of P and Q are Rs 800 and Rs 1200 (as we need to subtract Rs 100 from each of their incomes to account for the Rs 300 they save each month).

Therefore, the correct option is (a) Rs 800, 1200.
