Given,
Length of the rod, l = 5 cm
Focal length of the concave mirror, f = -10 cm (as it is a concave mirror)

Let's assume the distance of the object (rod) from the mirror as 'u'. Then, the distance of the image from the mirror will be 'v'. As the image is real, it will be formed on the opposite side of the mirror (i.e., left side in this case).

Using the mirror formula, 1/f = 1/v - 1/u

As the object is placed along the axis of the mirror, its distance from the mirror will be equal to its length. Hence, u = l = 5 cm.

Substituting the given values, we get,

1/-10 = 1/v - 1/5
-1/10 = 1/v - 1/5
-1/10 = (5 - v)/5v
-2v = 50 - 10v
8v = 50
v = 6.25 cm

Therefore, the image of the rod is formed at a distance of 6.25 cm from the concave mirror, on the left side, and it is real.
