Digestion of cellulose happens only in animals but not in humans...best example is cow ...we can not digest cellulose because we dont have an enzyme called CELLULASE

Human don't digest cellulose due to absence of enzyme cellulase actually that enzyme the body don't synthesize in animal also bt that enzyme is synthesized by anaerobic microbes present in herbivorous animals human don't have optimum temperature and chemical conditions for survival of such microbes so human lack this enzyme... In human cellulose only act as fluid absorber for increasing colonic mobility.....
