The hydrogen peroxide is reduced to water (H2O), while the potassium permanganate is oxidized to manganese dioxide (MnO2). The balanced equation for this reaction is: 2H2O2 + 5H2SO4 + 2KMnO4 -> 5O2 + 2MnSO4 + 8H2O + K2SO4
