°C and rejects heat at 27°C. The efficiency of a Carnot engine is given by:

Efficiency = 1 - (Tc/Th)

where Tc is the temperature of the cold reservoir and Th is the temperature of the hot reservoir.

Using this formula, we can calculate the efficiency of the Carnot engine as follows:

Efficiency = 1 - (300/500)

Efficiency = 1 - 0.6

Efficiency = 0.4 or 40%

Therefore, the efficiency of the Carnot engine is 40%.
