No presence of pneumatophores is a special adaption of halophytes eg rhizophora.. so assertion is wrong and reason is correct because they are root modification which grows upwards showing negative geotropism and helps is respiration. so option (c) is correct.

In the following question, a Statement of Assertion (A) is given follo...
Explanation:

Assertion is false but Reason is true:
- The assertion is false because the presence of pneumatophores is not a special adaptation of hydrophytes. Pneumatophores are actually specialized roots that grow above the ground in certain plants to help with gas exchange, especially in waterlogged or marshy environments.
- The reason is true because pneumatophores do indeed help take up oxygen from the atmosphere and transport it to the main roots. This is important for plants growing in waterlogged soils where oxygen availability may be limited.
Therefore, in this case, the assertion is false as pneumatophores are not a special adaptation of hydrophytes, but the reason is true as pneumatophores do serve the purpose of facilitating oxygen uptake in certain plants.
