(1). After the lahore resolution of complete independence , it was decided to launch a country - wide movement for freedom.
(2). No one knew better than Gandhi ji how to make people conscious of their hidden strength.
(3). So, he had to find a way to relate this abstract idea of freedom to more concrete issues of everyday life .
(4). He found in salt a powerful symbol that could unite the nations .
(5). So, he launched the Civil disobedience movement in 1929.
(6). He marched with his 78 followers from Sabarmati Ashram to the coastal village of Dandi in Gujarat on 12 march 1930.
(7). On 6 april 1930 he visited here and pucked up a handful sand and thus broke the salt law.
