Let total no. of Rs.10 notes be x and that of Rs.20 be y.
According to question ,

x+y = 150 (eq 1)

Also , 10x+20y = 2000
x+2y = 200 (eq 2)

Now, subtracting the eq 1 from eq 2 , we get
y = 50
then x = 100
Thus, he get 100 notes of Rs.10

10y + 20× (150 - y) = 2000
10y + 3000 - 20y = 2000
1000 = 10y
y = 1000/10 = 100 total no of 10 notes

you can solve these questions by putting value
100 × 10 = 1000 and rest 50 × 20 =1000

x+10y=200
if x=100,then
100+10y=200
