Explanation:

Given:
Volume of A = 2 x volume of B
Amount of water in B = 2 x amount of water in A

Let the volume of container B be V and the volume of water in it be v
The volume of container A is 2V and the volume of water in it is v/2.

We know that the pressure of the water vapour in a closed container depends on the temperature, volume and amount of water in it. Since both containers are at the same temperature, the ratio of the pressures of the water vapour in the containers will depend only on the volume and amount of water in them.

Using the ideal gas law, we can write:
PV = nRT
where P is the pressure, V is the volume, n is the amount of water (in moles), R is the universal gas constant and T is the temperature.

Since both containers are at the same temperature, we can write:
P_A V_A = n_A R T
P_B V_B = n_B R T

Dividing these two equations, we get:
P_A/P_B = (n_A V_A)/(n_B V_B)

Substituting the values of V_A, V_B, n_A and n_B, we get:
P_A/P_B = (v/2)/(2v) = 1/4

Therefore, the ratio of the pressures of the water vapour in the containers is 1:1/4 = 4:1

Hence, the correct answer is option B) 1:1.
