Solution:

Given,

- Six friends P, Q, R, S, T, and U are sitting around the hexagonal table, each at one corner and facing the centre of the hexagonal.
- P is second to the left of U.
- Q is a neighbour of R and S.
- T is second to the left of S.

We need to find the person who is sitting opposite to P.

Let's draw a diagram to represent the given information.

From the above diagram, we can observe the following:

- P and U are sitting at the two corners of the hexagonal table.
- Q is a neighbour of R and S. So, Q can either be sitting next to R or next to S.
- T is second to the left of S. So, T can be sitting either opposite to Q (if Q is sitting next to R) or opposite to R (if Q is sitting next to S).
- Since P is second to the left of U, there must be two persons sitting between P and U.
- Therefore, the only possible position for P is either opposite to R or opposite to S.

Now, we need to find out who is sitting opposite to P.

- If P is opposite to R, then Q must be sitting next to S. But Q cannot be sitting opposite to P because Q is a neighbour of R and S.
- Therefore, P cannot be opposite to R.
- If P is opposite to S, then T must be sitting opposite to Q. But we know that T is second to the left of S, so T cannot be sitting opposite to Q.
- Therefore, P cannot be opposite to Q.
- Hence, the only possible answer is that P is opposite to S.

Therefore, option D (S) is the correct answer.

In this question the position of p is not fixed so if we rotate all the elements clockwise or anticlockwise the condition will still get satisfied but answer will change.
