Problem: Ten years ago, P was half of Q's age. If the ratio of their present ages is 3:4, what will be the total of their present ages?

Solution:

Let's assume the present age of P is 3x and the present age of Q is 4x.

10 years ago, P's age was (3x-10) and Q's age was (4x-10).

According to the problem, 10 years ago, P was half of Q's age.

So, (3x-10) = 1/2 (4x-10)

6x - 20 = 4x - 10

2x = 10

x = 5

So, the present age of P is 3x = 15 and the present age of Q is 4x = 20.

Therefore, the total of their present ages = 15 + 20 = 35.

Hence, the correct answer is option C (35).
