Which one of the following pairs of items correctly belongs to the cat...
Excretory Organs: Nephridia of earthworm and malpighian tubules of Cockroach

Nephridia are the excretory organs of earthworms. The earthworm has a pair of nephridia in each segment, which help in removing nitrogenous waste from the body. The nephridia filter the waste from the blood and excrete it out through tiny pores on the surface of the body.

Malpighian tubules are the excretory organs of cockroaches. Cockroaches are terrestrial arthropods and have a pair of malpighian tubules, which help in the removal of nitrogenous waste from the body. The malpighian tubules filter the waste from the blood and excrete it out through the hindgut.

Analogous Organs: Thorn of Bougainvillea and tendril of Cucurbita

Analogous organs are those organs that have similar functions but are structurally different and have evolved independently. The thorn of Bougainvillea and tendril of Cucurbita are examples of analogous organs. Both the thorn and tendril serve the purpose of protecting the plant but are structurally different.

Vestigial Organs: Nictitating membrane and blind spot in human eye

Vestigial organs are those organs that have lost their original function over time. The nictitating membrane is a vestigial organ in humans, which is a third eyelid that was once used for protection and to keep the eye moist. The blind spot in the human eye is also a vestigial organ, which is a small area on the retina that lacks photoreceptor cells.

Homologous Organs: Wings of honey bee and wings of crow

Homologous organs are those organs that have similar structures but different functions. The wings of honey bee and wings of crow are examples of homologous organs. Both the wings have the same basic structure, but the function of the wings is different in both animals. The wings of honey bee are used for flight, whereas the wings of the crow are used for flight as well as balance and stability while perching.
