When the subject performs the action – it is Active Voice.
When the subject is being acted upon by the verb – it is Passive Voice.
The meaning conveyed by the sentence in both voices will remain the same. Only the sequence of the subject and the object (or the action) changes.
In Active voice – Subject + verb + object is the sequence.
In Passive voice – Object + verb + Subject is the sequence.
(Subject is someone that works on the object)
In the given sentence, the girl is the subject because she is doing an action. She is ascending. The action is done on the object which is the Everest here. So, the sentence in the question is in its Active Voice.
To change it into passive voice, the sentence should begin with the object ‘The Everest’.
Verbs are also changed. Some conversions are :
