A man donated 12% of his income to an NGO. Then, he spent 75% of the r...
Let his income be Rs. ‘x’
⇒ Money donated = 12% of x = 0.12x
⇒ Remaining income = x – 0.12x = 0.88x
Now, he spent 75% of the remaining income
⇒ Money saved = (100 – 75)% of 0.88x = 25% of 0.88x = 0.88x/4 = 0.22x
Now, money saved is Rs. 8000 more than the money donated
⇒ 0.22x = 8000 + 0.12x
⇒ 0.22x – 0.12x = 8000
⇒ 0.1x = 8000
⇒ x = 8000/0.1 = 80000
∴ His income is Rs. 80000
