Calculation of pH of resultant solution

1. Calculation of moles of each solution:
- 200ml N/20 HNO3 = 0.01 moles HNO3
- 100ml N/20 H2SO4 = 0.005 moles H2SO4
- 300ml M/30 HCL = 0.01 moles HCL
- 50ml 0.1M Ba(OH)2 = 0.005 moles Ba(OH)2
- 250 ml M/10 NaCl = 0.025 moles NaCl

2. Calculation of final volume of solution:
- Final volume = 200ml + 100ml + 300ml + 50ml + 250ml = 900ml

3. Calculation of concentration of resultant solution:
- HNO3 concentration = 0.01 moles / 0.9 L = 0.0111 M
- H2SO4 concentration = 0.005 moles / 0.9 L = 0.0056 M
- HCL concentration = 0.01 moles / 0.9 L = 0.0111 M
- Ba(OH)2 concentration = 0.005 moles / 0.9 L = 0.0056 M
- NaCl concentration = 0.025 moles / 0.9 L = 0.0278 M

4. Calculation of pH of resultant solution using the formula:
pH = -log[H+]

- Calculation of H+ ion concentration:
- HNO3 → H+ + NO3-
- H+ = 0.0111 M
- H2SO4 → 2H+ + SO4^2-
- H+ = 0.0112 M
- HCL → H+ + Cl-
- H+ = 0.0111 M
- Ba(OH)2 → Ba^2+ + 2OH-
- OH- = 0.0056 M
- NaCl → Na+ + Cl-
- No effect on pH

- Calculation of average H+ ion concentration:
- H+ ion concentration = (0.0111 M + 0.0112 M + 0.0111 M) / 3 = 0.0111 M

- Calculation of pH:
- pH = -log[0.0111]
- pH = 1.95

Therefore, the pH of the resultant solution is 1.95, which is closest to option (2) 2.0.
