Verified Answer
The cost of making an article is divided between materials, labor and ...
Let the multiplying factor be ‘x’.
Materials = 3x, Labor = 4x and Overheads = 2x
Given that, materials cost = Rs.33.60
As per sum,
⇒ 33.60 = 3x
⇒ x = 11.20
⇒ Labour = 4x = 4(11.20) = 44.80
⇒ Overheads = 2x = 2(11.20) = 22.40
∴ Cost of article = 33.60 + 44.80 + 22.40 = 100.80.

The cost of making an article is divided between materials, labor and ...
Given:
Ratio of cost of making an article = 3:4:2
Cost of material = Rs. 33.60
Let the total cost of making the article be x

Calculation:
The given ratio can be written as 3x : 4x : 2x
Total ratio = 3x + 4x + 2x = 9x
The cost of material is 3 parts out of 9 parts
So, the cost of 1 part = Rs. 33.60/3 = Rs. 11.20

To find the cost of the article, we need to add the costs of all the parts:
Cost of article = 3x + 4x + 2x = 9x
Cost of materials = 3 parts out of 9 parts = 3x/9 = x/3
Given, the cost of material is Rs. 33.60, therefore:
x/3 = Rs. 33.60
x = Rs. 100.80

Therefore, the cost of the article is Rs. 100.80, which is option A.
