Parkinson's disease is a chronic and progressive movement disorder, which involves the malfunction and death of the neurons. The dying neurons produce dopamine a neurotransmitter (a chemical that sends messages) to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. However, a drop in the dopamine levels leads to greater symptoms of Parkinson's.
