Verified Answer
If 6 years ago the ratio of the ages of P and Q was 7 : 9 and the sum ...
Let the present age of P be ‘p’ and that of Q be ‘q’.
Ratio of ages of P and Q six years ago is 7 : 9, i.e.,
9p - 7q = 12                 ......equation (1)
Given, the sum of present ages of P and Q is 92, i.e.
p + q = 92                    ......equation (2)
Now solving equation (1) and (2),
We get p = 41 and q = 51
Thus, ratio of their present ages = p : q = 41 : 51.
Thus, 41 : 51 is the correct answer.
