A and B entered into partnership with capitals in the ratio 4 : 5. Aft...
Given:
Capital Ratio of A and B = 4:5
After 3 months, A withdrew 1/4 of his capital
After 3 months, B withdrew 1/5 of his capital
Total time = 10 months
Profit = Rs. 760

To find:
Share of A and B in the profit

Solution:
Let the initial capital of A and B be 4x and 5x respectively.

After 3 months, A withdrew 1/4 of his capital
New capital of A = 3/4 * 4x = 3x

After 3 months, B withdrew 1/5 of his capital
New capital of B = 4/5 * 5x = 4x

Total capital = 3x + 4x = 7x

Let the profit be divided in the ratio k:1 (A:B)

Total profit = Rs. 760

(7x*k)/(k+1) = 760

k = 38

Share of A = 38/39 * (3x/7x) * 760 = Rs. 330
Share of B = 1/39 * (4x/7x) * 760 = Rs. 30

Therefore, the share of A in the profit is Rs. 330.
