Solution:

Given that there are 12 students and 3 prizes to be given.

We need to find the number of ways in which we can give prizes to these 12 students such that no two students receive the same prize.

This can be solved using the permutation formula.

Number of ways of selecting 3 students out of 12 is 12P3 = 12!/(12-3)! = 12!/9! = 12*11*10

Once we have selected 3 students, we can give them prizes in 3! ways.

Therefore, the total number of ways in which we can give 3 prizes to 12 students is:

12P3 * 3! = 1320
