Given,
6x + 10y = 30
If x = 0, y = 3
If y = 0, x = 5
Given,
3x + 9y = 27
If x = 0, y = 3
If y = 0, x = 9
Then,
Area of triangle formed by line 6x + 10y = 30 with axes,
Area = 1/2 × 3 × 5 = 7.5 sq. units
Area of triangle formed by line 3x + 9y = 27 with axes,
Area = 1/2 × 3 × 9 = 13.5 sq. units
Required shaded area = 13.5 – 7.5 = 6 sq. units
∴ Difference between the shaded area = 7.5 – 6 = 1.5 sq. units
