As per the given data
Let the cost price be x and selling price be y
Given that shopkeeper sells an article at 20% loss
⇒ x – 20x/100 = y
⇒ 80x/100 = y
⇒ x = 5y/4
⇒ 4x - 5y = 0.…eq 1
Also given that if he sells it for 100 more, he would earn a profit of 10%
⇒ x + 10/100 x = y + 100
⇒ 11x = 10y + 1000
⇒ 11x - 10y = 1000.…eq 2
Multiply eq 1 with 2 , we get
⇒ 8x – 10 y = 0 …eq 3
⇒ subtract eq 3 from eq 2 , we get
⇒ 3x = 1000
⇒ x = 333.33
Therefore cost price of the article = Rs.333.33

Given:
- The shopkeeper sells an article at a 20% loss.
- If he sells it for 100 more, he would earn a profit of 10%.

To Find:
The cost price of the article.

Let's assume the cost price of the article is 'x' rupees.

Calculating the Selling Price with 20% Loss:
When the shopkeeper sells the article at a 20% loss, he sells it for 80% of the cost price.
So, the selling price with a 20% loss is (80/100) * x = 0.8x.

Calculating the Selling Price with 10% Profit:
When the shopkeeper sells the article for 100 more, he earns a profit of 10%.
So, the selling price with a 10% profit is (110/100) * x = 1.1x.

According to the given information, the selling price with a 20% loss is 100 less than the selling price with a 10% profit. Therefore, we can write the equation:

0.8x + 100 = 1.1x

Solving the Equation:
Subtracting 0.8x from both sides of the equation:

100 = 0.3x

Dividing both sides of the equation by 0.3:

x = 100/0.3

x ≈ 333.33

Therefore, the cost price of the article is approximately Rs. 333.33.

Hence, the correct option is 'A' (Rs. 333.33).
