A, B, C rent a pasture. A puts 20 oxen for 8 months, B puts 12 oxen fo...
Given,
A puts 20 oxen for 8 months
B puts 12 oxen for 6 months
C puts 16 oxen for 4 months

Let the rent paid by A, B, and C be Ra, Rb, and Rc respectively.

Total rent paid = Rs. 278

Therefore, Ra + Rb + Rc = 278 ----(1)

Now, rent is proportional to the number of oxen and the time period they graze.

So, A's contribution to the rent = (20 x 8)/(20 x 8 + 12 x 6 + 16 x 4) x 278 = Rs. 60.11 (using the formula for proportional sharing of expenses)

Hence, option C (Rs. 60.11) is the correct answer.
