A and B invested rupees 4000 and 5000 respectively in a business. A be...
Given:
Investment of A = Rs. 4000
Investment of B = Rs. 5000
A gets Rs. 50 extra every month for running the business
Total amount received by A in a year = Rs. 800

To find:
Amount received by B in a year

Solution:
1. Calculation of monthly profit:
Let the total monthly profit be x.
A gets an additional Rs. 50 every month, so A's share of the profit will be (x+50) and B's share of the profit will be (x).
Therefore, (x+50) + (x) = x*2 + 50 = Total monthly profit
2. Calculation of profit share:
In a year, A will receive a total of Rs. 800. So, the number of months in a year can be calculated as follows:
800/50 = 16 months
This means that A has received an additional amount of Rs. 50 for 16 months.
Therefore, A's share of the profit in a year = 16*(x+50)
B's share of the profit in a year = 12*(x) (as B does not receive any additional amount)
3. Calculation of total profit:
Total profit in a year = A's share of profit + B's share of profit
Total profit = 16*(x+50) + 12*(x)
Total profit = 28x + 800
4. Calculation of profit per month:
Profit per month = Total profit/12
Profit per month = (28x + 800)/12
5. Calculation of B's share:
B's share in a year = Profit per month * 12
B's share in a year = (28x + 800)/12 * 12
B's share in a year = 28x + 800

Substituting the value of x from equation 1, we get:
Total monthly profit = 2x + 50
28x + 800 = 2x + 50
26x = 750
x = 28.85

Therefore, B's share in a year = 28x + 800 = 28*28.85 + 800 = Rs. 1016.80

Hence, the correct option is (a) Rs. 250.
