The average age of 30 students is 16 years. If the age of the teacher ...
Given:
- Average age of 30 students = 16 years
- When teacher's age is included, the average age increases by 1 year

To find: Age of teacher

Solution:

Let the age of the teacher be x

When the teacher's age is included, the number of people becomes 31 (30 students + 1 teacher).

According to the question,

Average age of 30 students = 16 years

Therefore, the total age of 30 students = 16 x 30 = 480 years

Now, when the teacher's age is included, the average age increases by 1.

So,

(480 + x)/31 = 17

480 + x = 527

x = 47

Therefore, the age of the teacher is 47 years.

Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
