Verified Answer
P is 20 % more efficient than Q, how much time will they working toget...
P : Q = 100 : 120
10/12 = 20/x
12/10 = x/20
X = 24
Q = 1/24 or 20*120/100 = 24
P+Q = 1/20 + 1/24
= 24+20/480 = 44/480 = 10.91 = 11 days

P is 20 % more efficient than Q, how much time will they working toget...
Given that P is 20% more efficient than Q.

Let us assume that Q takes x days to complete the job.

Therefore, P will take 20% less time than Q to complete the same job.

So, P will take (100-20)% or 80% of x days to complete the job.

Given that P alone could have completed the job in 20 days.

Therefore, 80% of x = 20

=> x = 25 days

Hence, Q alone can complete the job in 25 days.

Let us assume that both P and Q together can complete the job in y days.

Therefore, in one day, P can complete 1/20th of the job and Q can complete 1/25th of the job.

Together, they can complete 1/20 + 1/25 = 9/100th of the job in one day.

Therefore, they will complete the whole job in 100/9 days.

Hence, y = 100/9 days or approximately 11 days.

Therefore, the correct answer is option (b) 11 days.
