The average age of Simi’s age that time and Tia’s age that time = 17 years
Total age at that time = 34
Total age after 10 years = 34 + 20 = 54
Simi’s age after 5 years = 54 * (4/9) = 24
Simi’s present age = 24 – 5 = 19

Let
5 years ago simi's age = s
5 years ago tia's age = t

5 years ago average of their ages = s+t/2 =17, s+t = 34, s=34-t
after five years ratio = 4:5
s+10/t+10=4/5
put the value of s
44-t/t+10 = 4/5
220-5t = 4t+40
9t = 180
t=20
s=14

present age of simi = s+5 = 14+5 =19

's family was 25 years. Today, Simi's age is 28 years. What is the current average age of Simi's family?

Let's assume that Simi's family has 'n' members.

Five years ago, the total age of Simi's family was (25 x n) years.

Today, the total age of Simi's family is [(25 x n) + (5 x n) + (28 - 5)] years
= (30 x n) + 23 years

The current average age of Simi's family = [(30 x n) + 23]/n years
= 30 + (23/n) years

Therefore, the current average age of Simi's family is 30 + (23/n) years.
