Given:
A gives two successive discounts of 10% and 25%.
B sells it by giving two successive discounts of 15% and 20%.

To find: Ratio of their marked price

Solution:
Let the marked price of both companies A and B be M.

Company A:
First discount = 10%
Price after first discount = M - 0.1M = 0.9M
Second discount = 25%
Price after second discount = 0.9M - 0.25(0.9M) = 0.675M

Effective selling price of A = 0.675M

Company B:
First discount = 15%
Price after first discount = M - 0.15M = 0.85M
Second discount = 20%
Price after second discount = 0.85M - 0.2(0.85M) = 0.68M

Effective selling price of B = 0.68M

Ratio of marked price = M/M = 1 (Since we are comparing the same thing)

Ratio of effective selling price of A and B = (0.675M)/(0.68M) = 135/136

Therefore, the ratio of marked price of A and B is 136:135, which is option C.
