Anu and Purvi are running on a circular track of length 500m. TheSpeed...
Solution:
Given, Length of the circular track = 500m
Speed of Anu = 40 m/s
Speed of Purvi = 30 m/s

Let the time taken by Anu and Purvi to meet for the first time be 't' seconds.

Distance covered by Anu in 't' seconds = 40t meters
Distance covered by Purvi in 't' seconds = 30t meters

Let the distance covered by Anu and Purvi before they meet for the first time be 'd' meters.

Since they are running in the same direction, the relative speed between them = 40 - 30 = 10 m/s

Using relative speed formula, we have:

d = (40t - 30t) = 10t meters

Now, the distance covered by Anu and Purvi in 't' seconds should be equal to the length of the circular track for them to meet for the first time.

i.e., 40t + (500 - 30t) = 500

Solving the above equation, we get:

10t = 500 - 500 = 0

t = 0 seconds

This implies that Anu and Purvi will meet for the first time at the starting point itself.

The time taken for them to meet again for the first time will be equal to the time taken for them to complete one full round of the circular track.

Time taken to complete one full round of the circular track = Length of the circular track/Relative speed

= 500/10 = 50 seconds

Therefore, they will meet again for the first time after 50 seconds, which is option (c).
