A = 1.25B, gives A = 1.25 * 0.75 C = 0.9375 C....(ii)
B = 0.75C....(iii)
Using (ii) and (iii) in (i)
we get 0.9375C + 0.75C + C = 731, gives C = 272. So option E is the answer.

B = 0.75C....(iii)
Using (ii) and (iii) in (i)

Problem: A sum of Rs 731 is divided among A, B and C such that A receive 25% more than B and B receive 25% less than C. What is C's share in the amount?
Solution:
Let B's share be x.
Then A's share = (125/100)x = 1.25x
And C's share = (100/75)x = (4/3)x
Now, according to the question,
A + B + C = 731
1.25x + x + (4/3)x = 731
3.5x/3 = 731
x = (731 x 3)/3.5
x = 627.42
Therefore, B's share = Rs. 627.42
C's share = (4/3)x = (4/3) x 627.42 = Rs. 836.56
Hence, the correct answer is option E, none of these.
Solution:
Let B's share be x.
Then A's share = (125/100)x = 1.25x
And C's share = (100/75)x = (4/3)x
Now, according to the question,
A + B + C = 731
1.25x + x + (4/3)x = 731
3.5x/3 = 731
x = (731 x 3)/3.5
x = 627.42
Therefore, B's share = Rs. 627.42
C's share = (4/3)x = (4/3) x 627.42 = Rs. 836.56
Hence, the correct answer is option E, none of these.
