Each sector can hold 4 logical records.
The required number of sectors is 303,150/4 = 75,788 sectors
    = 75,788/96 tracks = 790 track
    = 790/110 = 8 surfaces.

Find how much disk space (in surfaces) will be required to store 300,0...
    Solution:

    Given:
    Number of logical records=300,000
    Logical record size=120 Bytes
    Sector size=512 Bytes
    Number of sectors/track=96
    Number of tracks/surface=110
    Number of usable surfaces=8

    To find:
Disk space required to store 300,000 120-byte logical records.

    Approach:
We can calculate the disk space required to store the given logical records using the below formula:

Disk space required = (Number of logical records) * (Logical record size) / (Sector size)

Once we calculate the disk space required for one surface, we can multiply it with the number of usable surfaces to get the total disk space required.

    Calculation:
Disk space required for one logical record=120/512=0.234375 sectors
Disk space required for 300,000 logical records=(300,000*120)/512=70,312.5 sectors

Total number of sectors per surface:
    =Number of sectors/track * Number of tracks/surface
    =96 * 110
    =10,560 sectors

Number of logical records that can be stored per surface:
=Number of sectors/surface/Disk space required for one logical record
    =10,560/0.234375
    =45,000 logical records

    Disk space required per surface:
=Number of logical records that can be stored per surface * Disk space required for one logical record
    =45,000 * 0.234375
    =10,546.875 sectors

    Total disk space required:
=Disk space required per surface * Number of usable surfaces
    =10,546.875 * 8
    =84,375 sectors

Therefore, the disk space required to store 300,000 120-byte logical records on a fixed sector disk with 512 bytes/sector, with 96 sectors/track, 110 tracks per surface, and 8 usable surfaces is 84,375 sectors.
