Lenticels and Collenchymatous Hypodermis in Dicot Stem:
Lenticels:
- Lenticels are small, raised, circular or elongated structures present on the surface of the stems, roots, and fruits of a plant.
- They are formed due to the rapid growth of the underlying tissues that leads to the splitting of the epidermis.
- They allow the exchange of gases between the internal tissues and the atmosphere.
- In dicot stems, lenticels are present on the surface of the stem, in between the nodes.
Collenchymatous Hypodermis:
- The collenchymatous hypodermis is a type of tissue found in the stem of dicot plants.
- It is composed of elongated cells with thickened walls that provide mechanical support to the plant.
- The cells of the collenchymatous hypodermis are located just beneath the epidermis and are arranged in a continuous layer.
- The collenchymatous hypodermis also contains chloroplasts, which help in photosynthesis.
Presence of Lenticels and Collenchymatous Hypodermis in Dicot Stem:
- Both lenticels and collenchymatous hypodermis are present in the stem of dicot plants.
- Lenticels are present on the surface of the stem, in between the nodes, while collenchymatous hypodermis is present just beneath the epidermis.
- Lenticels allow the exchange of gases between the internal tissues and the atmosphere, while collenchymatous hypodermis provides mechanical support to the plant.
- The presence of these structures in the dicot stem is important for the growth and survival of the plant.

Dicot stem
In dicot stem .the cortex is many layers and differentiated into hypodermics and inner Cortex .the hypodermics is found below the epidermis and consist of angular collenchymatous hypodermics
