Phylum porifera means pore bearing organisms, thair animal nature was coind by Robert grant.they are redially symmetrical or asymmetrical animals. they are mostly marine some are fresh water (spongilla). this organisms contains water canal system it helps in nutrition, excretion, respiration. body enters through ostia, exits through the osculum .central body cavity is called spongicole. body Skelitan mainly made up of calcarius fibrous, silicius spiculus etc... based on body Skelitan they are devided into three classes calcaria, hexactinelleda, demosponge...ex.hylonema(glass rope sponge ,spongella (fresh water sponge), euplectella (venus flower basket).
