I think so after the age 45-50 females can' t bear babies due to natural method . So if they get impregnated , chances of abortion and genetic disorder is very high , but in case of male it is not so .If females continues to have menstrual cycle and release ova it will be of no use and it will be a burden for a her , so nature did this.

I think This is because of the degeneration of primary follicles.During foetal stage ovary contain 2 million oogonia
》Many primary follicles get degenerated from birth to puberty.These degenerated follicles are called Atretic follicles.
》By the time of puberty ,only 60k to 80k remain in each ovary
