(a)The fundamental right to the freedom of religion clearly states that one has a right to practise, profess and propagate any religion.(b)Prohibition of discrimination on the basis of religion is one of the tenets in the constitution under the fundamental right to equality.

Secularism means no special status is given to any reason. It is just not an ideology of some parties or persons .The constitution of India ensures secularism through the following ways:

1).India grant equal status to all religion and our constitution does not give special status to any religion .There is no official religion for the Indian states.

2). The constitution provides religious freedom to all individual and communities of our country. Everybody is free to profess, practice and propagate any religion of theur choice.

3). The constitution prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion.Everybody is treated equally.

4). The constitution allows the state to intervene into the matters of religion in order to ensure equality within religious community.

5). The government cannot compel any person to pay any tax for the promotion or maintenance of any particular religion or religious institution. There shall be no religious instruction in the government educational institutions. ( Choose any two ).
