Aldehydes which do not contain alpha- hydrogen atom when treated with concentrated alkali solution like NaOH undergo disproportionation reaction ,as a result one molecule is oxidised to Carboxylic acid and another molecule is reduced to Alcohol..this reaction is called Cannizzaro's reaction...option B
