Potential Gradient = Emf / Length of Wire

To calculate the resistance required in series with the wire, we use the formula:
Resistance = (Length of Wire x Potential Gradient) / Current

Therefore, Required Resistance = (Emf / Current) - Resistance of Potentiometer Wire

Substituting the values, we get:
