DOWN'S SYNDROME :About 95 percent of the time, Down syndrome is caused by trisomy 21 — the person has three copies of chromosome 21, instead of the usual two copies, in all cells. This is caused by abnormal cell division during the development of the sperm cell or the egg cell.
KLINEFELTER SYNDROME :
Klinefelter syndrome can be caused by: One extra copy of the X chromosome in each cell (XXY), the most common cause. An extra X chromosome in some of the cells (mosaic Klinefelter syndrome), with fewer symptoms. More than one extra copy of the X chromosome, which is rare and results in a severe form.
TURNER'S SYNDROME :
Turner syndrome occurs when part or all of an X chromosome is missing from most or all of the cells in a girl's body. A girl normally receives one X chromosome from each parent. The error that leads to the missing chromosome appears to happen during the formation of the egg or sperm.
