Dear according to me u should prepare for gate and ese  in 1st year like apptiude , English , reasoning and maths part which is common in your 1st year syllabus and gate/ese syllabus .and for ese pre- exam syllabus download and try to understand and watch video on YouTube atleast your waste will be utilised during in your 1st year of engineering .
